As Netflix announced their plans for a Power Rangers reunion, many fans were surprised not to see one original stars’ name among those returning – Amy Jo Johnson.
The 52-year-old actress portrayed the original Pink Ranger, Kimberly Hart, in seasons one and two of The Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers, with the late Jason David Frank and Thuy Trang, Austin St. John, Walter Emanuel Jones and David Yost.
While David and Walter will be back, Amy revealed the reason why she won’t be appearing in the reunion.
When fans questioned why she wasn’t going to return, Amy shared on social media her reasons why.
“For the record, I never said no…I just didn’t say yes to what was offered,” she clarified.
However, Amy did promise that “other fun stuff is in store” from her, before adding that she’s “looking forward to watching my friends kick a**!”
Find out which other Power Rangers stars will be part of the special.
Some are hypothesizing that Amy not joining could be a pay issue, much like Arden Cho‘s decision to not be part of the Teen Wolf movie
For the record I never said no…I just didn’t say yes to what was offered. But other fun stuff is in-store! Looking forward to watching my friends kick ass! 😘 #PowerRangers30
