In the 5th match of ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier 2023, Zimbabwe Cricket Team faced with Netherlands Cricket Team.
The hosts chased down the target of over 300 with 55 balls to spare. Sikandar Raza and Sean Williams contributed significantly to Zimbabwe's victory.
While Raza scored the fastest ODI century for his national team off 54 balls, Williams played a crucial innings of 91 runs. In Group A, Zimbabwe have secured their second consecutive win, while the Netherlands have lost their first match.
Before the start of the match, Zimbabwe won the toss and decided to bowl first. Coming into bat, Netherlands openers Vikramjeet Singh and Max O'Dawood put on 120 runs for the first wicket.
Vikramjit Singh scored 88 runs in this match, while Max Odaud played an important inning of 59 runs.
Captain Edwards, who came to bat in the middle order, also played stormy shots and scored 83 runs in 72 balls. In the end, Saqib Zulfiqar's quickfire 34 helped the Netherlands score 315/6. Sikandar Raza took maximum 4 wickets for Zimbabwe.
Chasing a tough target, the hosts also got off to a great start. The openers added 80 runs for the first wicket. Joylard Gumby contributed 40 runs and Craig Ervin contributed 50 runs.
Zimbabwe's batsmen took advantage of this fast start and Sean Williams, who was in the middle order, scored a blistering innings of 91 runs in 58 balls, but the match was brought to the conclusion by Sikandar Raza's tremendous century.
